Meet Deshauna Barber - first active duty woman to win the coveted crown of Miss USA and now the CEO of SWAN. Listen in as we chat about her service, the successful road to Miss USA and her plans moving forward for SWAN. Find out the changes DOD is making to ensure the further protections for active duty women who have suffered an assault or MST during their service. SWAN is the voice for all of all military women post-present-future who advocates for the individual and collective needs of women who are military connected. SWAN has advocated to open all military jobs to service women, expanding access to services for a broad range of reproductive healthcare services, working to hold sex offenders accountable in the military justice system and eliminating barriers to disability claims for those who have experienced military sexual trauma.
