Third times a charm, as they would say…and this song has 3 people on it *heehee*! Today, Mr. Al Pete talks about the jam ‘Daytona 500’ by Ghostface Killah. When the song was released in 1996, it was ahead of its time…to the point where it sounds like it could have been released some months ago. It also reminds him of Griselda…spooky, right?!
Pete speaks on how the song was sampled from Bob James song ‘Nautilus’ and shared some history behind that. He also gives some fun facts about the Daytona 500’s music video and how he loves the Speed Racer cartoon that complimented the visuals. Lastly, he reflects on how him and his friends ‘sampled’ it for a step show!
